Often, students wonder about their instructor- "who is he?" and "what is his background". So here is a quick summary:

I received a BA in psychology and MA in clinical psychology from East Carolina University

Most of my experience was in a mental health setting. After working two years at the Walter B. Jones Substance Abuse Center in Greenville, I worked in community mental health for approximately 29 years. During this time I became a licensed marriage and family therapist.

Also, for four years I was employed in the compliance office at the Brody School of Medicine. In this position I focused on human subjects research issues.

Throughout my career I've taught on a part-time basis. I've taught courses in psychology, marriage and family, and graduate courses in family therapy.

For students interested in details, including publications, papers, and presentation, you can read my vita (Word;   Acrobat Reader).
